Summer 2020 Bounty

Farm Markets

Nothing is better than summer fruits and Peaches 2020.jpgvegetables.  I just love this time of year.  The corn in the fields is as high as an elephant’s eye.  So today my mission is to visit some of my favorite local farm markets.  Checking to see if I have my mask, hand sanitizer, elastic gloves, and, $, of course, I am ready to hit the road.  First stop Greenwood Farm Market located on Rt. 18. This market is self-serve, self-pay (honor system). You never know what you will find here.  I picked up a cantaloupe, Silver Queen Corn (they also have bi-color corn), eggplant and a watermelon.  Next stop is Brittingham’s Produce in Milton.  When you arrive, there is a dry erase board with selections and prices.  You drive up and someone takes your order and delivers it right to you.  Zucchini, squash, huge peaches and beautiful red tomatoes are coming home with me.

Let me get some iced tea and get started on making a zucchini casserole and zucchini bread.  I’ll report back on the results.
